Shawna, this girl is bad, her music has this nice funkiness about it. I love it. Shawna combines her love of funk, pop, jazz, rock, and soul music to create a diverse spectrum of sound, and it’s working for her. A sound she pulls off very very well.

Touching on subjects of love, fear, frustration and hope, Shawna gives audiences a very personal look into her life. At Central Washington University on music scholarship, Shawna completed a degree in music education. While refining her technical skills as a teacher and vocalist in college. She began a funk cover band and soon was singing in front of audiences four nights a week. Though Shawna was performing for many people she was ready for a new challenge. Inspired to expand her musical abilities, Shawna began to create her own music. In late 2007, Shawna took her songs to Contact Create Studios to complete her first album. Shawna creates a show packed with entertainment, heart, and quality. I have included my pick Who Wins and the other pick is my son favorite Turned Your Back.

An enigmatic muse….

Quick! When I say, “Shawna Locey,” you say, “Enigmatic Muse!”
What? Call me crazy, but these are the first words that popped into my mind when listening to her newest release.
Listening to Shawna Locey one gets the sense of being right on the cusp of something big being ready to emerge.
Looking at Shawna you see a young girl with eyes full of innocence and contemplation. However, upon hearing her music you quickly realize this is clearly a full grown woman who is learning and changing through the lessons of life. We get glimpses of her personality through the eye opening “Who wins”, the playful “Let it Flow”, and the sexy duet with Darrius Willrich, “What can I say?”
Lucky for us, Shawna allows us to be part of her metamorphosis into the full-fledged muse-ician she is.
